How to Use This Blog

I create horoscopes for you to use as a tool for introspection and reflection. When observing the outside world from a general perspective, I recognize that we need more encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. You can use the information in this blog to prompt guided introspection.

Background Information

When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets represent energies that correlate with the different manifestations of our nature. They show us that many parts make a whole. The zodiac signs represent atmospheres or energy signatures through which the other parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves. Lastly, astrological houses represent the various life areas of our lives. From this viewpoint, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.

The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth-based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back of the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything related to the study of Astrology.

Full Moon and New Moon 101

Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16, 2022, there was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun was in Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposite signs. On the other hand, New Moons always occur within the same sign, the Sun. For example, On October 25, 2022, there was a partial solar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun, along with the new Moon, was in the sign Scorpio.

What you came for

On Saturday, October 14th, 2023, a new moon solar eclipse will be in the air sign Libra, starting a series of eclipses on the Aries - Libra axis over the next six months. What is notable about this new Moon aside from the fact that it is a solar eclipse is that it will conjunct the Sun, Mercury, and the South Node, oppose Chiron and the North Node, and square Pluto. Eclipses reveal what is hidden. Conjunctions fuse energies. Oppositions project or deflect energies. Squares create tension. Feeling overwhelmed, emotionally volatile, or highly charged is to be expected. The activation that follows these energetic shifts is natural; however, what you decide to do with it is critical. How will you alchemize what you feel during this time?

 Libra 101

The atmosphere of Libra is rich in balance and righteousness. The earthly concept of duality becomes fully fleshed out here, showing us that there is another side to all things. To survive and thrive here on Earth, we must form relationships created between people, places, things, and situations. This reality shows us that we are never separate from anything and live in a silo. We are interconnected beings connected to all that surrounds us, and accommodating the reality of coexisting and interdependence will take us further than independence if we desire to nurture those relationships. Treating everything with respect and the fairness it deserves and doing what we feel is aligned with our hearts allows harmony to be felt here on Earth.

The entire atmosphere of the Libra resonates with the Ma’at ancient principle from Egyptian spirituality. She was one of Ra, the Sun God’s children, and she was formed to create order and harmony in chaos. Her uprightness is also used in the famous judgment scene, where we see her weighing the initiate's heart against her feather, representing honesty, truth, harmony, and order.  (this is where the scale came from for the sign Libra.) Living honestly and righteously will allow us to move on in the incarnation process; however, living oppositely will be further perpetuated until we learn the importance of a clear conscience.

 Venus and Libra

The atmosphere of Libra is ruled by the planet Venus, which represents harmony, unity, fertility, and generosity. The condition of the ruling planets plays a critical role in the experience of the sign’s atmosphere. Presently, Venus is debilitated in its fall in the Earth sign Virgo. This means that the experience of Libra will not be as supported by the presence of Venus because, figuratively speaking, it is going through its one personal struggle somewhere else! This reality lends a “sink or swim” vibe to this new Moon solar eclipse that may feel harsh or pivotal to those who are sensitive.

Conjunction: Sun, Moon, Mercury, and South Node

The Sun, Moon, Mercury, and South Node conjunct in Libra create the atmosphere that focuses on what we feel is unjust or unrighteous within and around us and how it connects to our lower selves.  Some of us may feel plagued with the memory of the “wrongs” we have experienced in this life due to the connections we have fostered; some may feel the “wrongs” they have committed within their connections, while others may feel a mixture of both. Whatever the case, these memories are surfacing to be acknowledged. However, diving into them can be saved for Scorpio season. What we are being called to do is to recognize the other side. Identifying with what was done, feeling emotionally and mentally impacted by what was done, and communicating or apologizing for what was done is to be expected. Looking for any patterns connecting to your lower self, the version of who you are that you desire to evolve, will also be beneficial during this time.

Opposition: Chiron and North Node

The new Moon will oppose Chiron and the North Node in the fire sign Aries. Chiron represents our deep wounds that double as our gifts to the world, and the North Node represents the alignment we are headed toward. Feeling the pain and alienation caused by your deepest wounds and, as a result, feeling either confused or aligned with your purpose is to be expected.  Now would be an opportune time to observe how your pain relates to the world around you. Again, separation is a façade and only leads to us remaining alone in the long run. Alchemy teaches us how to transform dark into light, meaning the pain we presently feel from our wounds can be alchemized into joy if we allow it. Acknowledging and observing your wounds and feeling the pain they cause may give you insight into exactly how you are meant to be of service to the world. The atmosphere of Aries can assist you in taking action in the form of little changes to transmute the heavy impact of your pain. Doing so can also show you that transformation is can achieved by little changes over time.

Square: Pluto

Lastly, this new Moon will square Pluto in the Earth sign Capricorn. Pluto represents the trauma that led to our inner wounds. These traumatic events, like our wounds, can provide us with gifts for the future. These gifts manifest as hidden material treasures that can assist us in moving toward our North Node. Squares create tension and challenges, so feeling overwhelmed by the state of your life or a situation can be expected. Despite things feeling pressurized, the fact that you are feeling the pressure shows you can do something about it. Pluto calls us to accept the past and all that occurred for what it was. Life can be painful; however, adopting the mindset that everything is happening for you, not to you, can make a world of difference!  Remember, you are meant to be precisely where you are. Moving at your pace will get you to your next pitstop the fastest. Comparison is the theft of joy, so respect the journey was custom-made for you and you only!
