How to Use This Blog
The reason I create horoscopes is so that they can be used as a tool for introspection and reflection. I recognize, when observing the outside world from a general perspective, we receive very little encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. Use the information provided in this blog for material to prompt guided introspection.
Background Information
When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets can be viewed as energies that represent different parts of our nature, or frequencies that resonate with and influence different parts of our nature. They show us that we are comprised of many parts that make a whole. The signs of the zodiac can be viewed as the atmospheres that the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves through. Lastly, the astrological houses can be viewed as the different life areas that make up our lives. From this view point, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.
Reminder: The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything related to the study of Astrology.
Full Moon and New Moon 101
Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022 there was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio and the Sun was in the sign Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. New Moons on the other hand always take place within the same sign the Sun. For example, the Sun is the sign Leo and this new Moon on July 28th was in the sign Leo.
What You Came For
On Thursday, August 11th, 2022, there will be a Full Moon in the air sign Aquarius. Personified as the Water Bearer, the atmosphere of Aquarius contains the code to replenish the collective consciousness with an unorthodox and liberating sense of self-awareness when self-destruction and conformity become the unconscious focus of society. This self-awareness can take us beyond society's known conventions and into the unknown limitlessness of the ever-expanding energetic universe. Like all things in life, experiencing this intergalactic travel comes at a cost. One cost that comes to mind is the realization that the concept of "individualization" was a divisive tool created to separate us from the awareness of our interconnective metaphysical universe. Let me be clear; the individual does exist, just not in the form we have been programmed to believe.
The concept of the SELF, as we know it, is a relatively new phenomenon. Historically, ancient civilizations globe-wide understood, in some form or another, that all things within our reality were connected. Words like fate, destiny and karma display the above understanding; however, within the western world, words like luck, chance and coincidence have created a necessary yet interesting polarization. The extremes of the polarity above have a Nilhistic outlook on one end and one reminiscent of Emanation Theory on the other. If we look past the nuance and see each perspective with a border lens, the seeds of individualization and collective consciousness are present and in opposition. From a micro viewpoint, the concept of the individual represents the collective consciousness as a self-contained vacuum; from a macro lens, the collective consciousness represents the individual as an interconnected web. Both viewpoints tell the same story but from contrasting vantage points. When we allow ourselves to get caught up in the world's intentionally confusing rhetoric, we lose sight of a bigger picture that connects us to all things yet grounds us in our unique view of that very picture.
This understanding is particularly pertinent when discussing the atmosphere of Aquarius. The portrayal of the intersection between the individual and the collective consciousness present within the sign Aquarius can teach us a great deal about ourselves and the world around us.
Horoscope
Finding our blind spots is the collective task at hand.
Blind spots develop in our vision when we internalize life challenges instead of gracefully opening ourselves to acknowledge their hidden lessons. Our ego, our curated sense of self, is the primary manufacturer of these blind spots, which can be detected whenever we judge, victimize or blame ourselves or others to make sense of what happens in our lives. Due to the pain these blind spots cause, avoidance, denial and projection are common ways we attempt to remedy our internal struggles. We can overcome these struggles by accepting that there is no "right" way to do anything; therefore, there is no "wrong" way to live our lives. Shifting our focus to discover what is in alignment with the life we desire can empower us and shine a light on the autonomy we all have to live our life the way we decide. Reflecting on the structure of our home and private lives may be a valuable tool for detecting any blind spots that may have slipped beneath our radar. These areas of our lives can reveal our deeply rooted and unconscious beliefs about ourselves, the world around us and how we think life ought to be. Taking stock of our unconscious programming can save us from internalizing what would be better acknowledged-- as always, the choice is yours.
Journal Prompts
Do I blame myself or others for what happens in my life?
What kind of people, places, and things align with the life I desire for myself?
Am I surrounded by people, places and things that resemble what I previous stated?
Am I in alignment with the life I desire to live? If not, why not?
Conclusion
We are interconnected beings that are a part of the collective consciousness and individuals who behold a unique view of the world we all exist within. When we discover what our alignment looks like, we allow ourselves to maintain a clear view of these two realities without feeling the need to live through extremes. Acknowledging the happens in our lives versus internalizing them will enable us to make informed decisions based on a holistic understanding and avoid compartmentalization.
