New Moon in Aries: April 1st, 2022
Blog Post Synopsis
Within this blog post, we will be discussing the upcoming new Moon in the sign Aries and how you can use it as a tool for healing, introspection and self mastery. Get your journal, it is time to reflect!
How to Use This Blog
The reason I create horoscopes is so that they can be used as a tool for introspection and reflection. I recognize, when observing the outside world from a general perspective, we receive very little encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. Use the information provided in this blog for material to prompt guided introspection.
Background Information
When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets can be viewed as energies that represent different parts of our nature. They show us that we are comprised of many parts that make a whole. The signs of the zodiac can be viewed as the atmosphere that the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves through. Lastly, the astrological houses can be viewed as the different life areas that make up our lives. From this view point, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.
What You Came Here For
On Friday April 1st, 2022, there will be a new Moon in the sign Aries. With the use of Horary Astrology, I casted a chart with the intention of learning “what the new Moon in Aries is here to teach us collectively” and the casted chart revealed that the new Moon in Aries will be collectively experienced within the 11th house.
Walk With Me
The 11th house generally represents matters regarding friendship, our hopes and dreams and overall life goals. Although friendship is generally associated with this house, I have come to view the 11th house as an area of our lives that represent groups of people connected through organizations more so than through friendship. I think this distinction is an important one to realize because the desire to build intimate bonds with work colleagues, or fellow members of an organization has a high propensity to negatively impact the initial reason the connection was established in the first place. The age old quote, “Do not mix business with pleasure”, feels appreciate in conveying the possible pitfalls that can form when attempting to blend these two worlds together. The modern association of the 11th house effectively illustrates this reality.
Modernly, the 11th house is associated with the air sign Aquarius and its modern ruler, the planet Uranus. Uranus signifies irregularity, sudden change, advancement and humanity. The physical planet has somewhat of an elaborate moon system, where the planet’s 13 inner moons connect with its13 visible outer rings— Uranus has rings! These inner moons are volatile in nature, and are constantly thrusting and colliding with each other.
The nature of these moons provide a visual for the type of connections the 11th house has a tendency of attracting— those that are volatile and irregular, yet have the capacity to tremendously propel us forward. I say this to say, using the connections formed in this house strategically with the purpose of goal advancement, collaboration and networking will provide more benefits than attempting to create friendships. You may find yourself feeling disappointed, overexposed or altogether regretful if the later is the focus.
Traditionally, the 11th house was referred to as “The Place of Good Spirit” and the house where the planet Jupiter rejoiced, or was the most favourably situated. The association with Jupiter and this house brings up an interesting concept that was used more abundantly in ancient times, which is the notion of benevolence and maleficence.
Ancient Astrologers believed that benevolence and maleficence were two forces that represented “goodness” and “badness” and were displayed by the planets Jupiter and Venus acting as benevolence, and Saturn and Mars acting as maleficence. Jupiter and Venus were viewed as planets that were constructive and brought prosperity, fertility and love into one’s life, while Saturn and Mars were viewed as planets that were destructive and brought challenge, devastation and struggle into one’s life. Both forces were viewed to have a significant purpose in the overall function and flow of life, however, consideration was put into uncovering how to increase the effects of benevolence and decrease the impact of maleficence in one’s life.
The sign Aries represents the atmosphere the new Moon will be expressed through. The fire sign Aries, ruled by the planet Mars, teaches us how to independently confront the outside world with the intention of meeting our personal needs. Themes surrounding independence, confidence, assertiveness and power are to be expected.
New Moons represent a period of potential, opportunity and freshness. Oozing with promise, innocence and optimism, new Moons signify an opportune period for starting something new.
Horoscope
Opportunities to advance deeply held dreams and life goals will become apparent to those of who have bravely and confidently asserted their intentions into the world. Knowing who to trust will be the next step in the journey because a wolf in sheep’s clothing still looks like a wolf if our eyes are the only tools used for evaluation. Asking more questions than you answer will prove to be a helpful strategy for revealing any hidden agendas for those who have bad intentions. The first few weeks of the month will be best used for boldly engaging in spontaneous intereactions, especially for those who feel disconnected from their sense of purpose. You never know who you will meet, so allow yourself to do what is necessary for you to feel your most confident when stepping into any room— and yes, the grocery store counts! Power struggles, petty arguments and combative sparring are indications of the poor utilization of Mars energy. Exercising vigilance when interacting with others may save you from saying irreparable words in the heat of an explosive moment.
New Moon Affirmations
“I am confident.”
“I allow myself to take up all the space I need.”
“I am capable of meeting my personal needs.”
“Every thought I think, every word I say and every action I enact, is aligning me with my highest Good.”
“My purpose is present, even when I cannot see it.”
“The vibe I give off attracts the tribe I will encounter.”
“I am bold, blessed and bountiful.”
Conclusion
There will be a concentration of quintessential Mars energy in the energetic atmosphere due to the Sun and Moon uniting in the fire sign Aries. Recognizing the difference between confidence and arrogance through mindfully noting how we speak and act towards those around us, will go a long way during this lunation period and possibly prevent unnecessary conflict from forming. Observing those you consider to be friends and evaluating whether you have any connections that would be best transitioned into ones that focus on goal advancement and collaboration would be beneficial at this time. Living your life within the bounds of a handcrafted comfort zone will only stunt YOUR growth. Allow the infusion of the spring energy that surrounds the Northern hemisphere to inspire you to be bold and take high calculated risks with high rewards. It is your world, we just live in it.
