New Moon in Leo August 15th, 2023
How to Use This Blog
I create horoscopes for you to use as a tool for introspection and reflection. When observing the outside world from a general perspective, I recognize that we need more encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. You can use the information in this blog to prompt guided introspection.
Background Information
When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets represent energies that correlate with the different manifestations of our nature. They show us that we are many parts that make a whole. The zodiac signs represent atmospheres or energy signatures through which the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves. Lastly, astrological houses represent the various life areas that make up our lives. From this viewpoint, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.
The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth-based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back of the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything related to the study of Astrology.
Full Moon and New Moon 101
Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022, the was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun was in Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. On the other hand, New Moons always occur within the same sign, the Sun. For example, On October 25th, 2022, there was a partial solar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun, along with the new Moon, was in the sign Scorpio.
What you came for
On Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, there will be a new Moon in the fire sign, Leo. Complexity is added to the experience of this new Moon because the Sun and retrograde Venus are also in the sign Leo, less than 10 degrees apart.
Astrologically, when planets are within 10 degrees of each other, it is called a Conjunction. From a psycho-spiritual perspective, a Conjunction is the experience of different energies fusing. While the impact of a Conjunction can feel intense, it typically goes undetected by the one experiencing it and can be unsettling to witness. Behavioural characteristics of a Conjunction include the inability to see beyond your lens, a restlessness that leads to impulsive decision-making, and an overall focus on feeling safe.
In this particular instance, you may notice that someone close enough for you to witness suddenly and unreasonably identifies with their role in a relationship and the emotional and mental state that role generally evokes within. You may also find that their attention is more focused on personal relationships and how it relates to their emotional and mental well-being, especially if those relationships seem disharmonious. The need for harmony may even come off as a compulsion. Like codependency masqueraded as problem-solving.
If this sounds or feels familiar, there is a high chance this is due to the energy shifts in the cosmos. For those noticing this within themselves, please be gentle with yourself. Reflecting, introspecting and holding off on judging your experience will provide you with the broadest lens to view yourself.
The Sun rules over the domicile of Leo, and Leo rules over the heart. What you feel gives you life, healthily captures your full undivided attention and supports and encourages you is where the energy flows the easiest. The contrast is pridefulness, vanity, noncooperation and complacency. Using these qualities as a barometer for measuring your connections' health can provide insight you may have overlooked.
Horoscope:
Struggling is not a prerequisite for love. Many of us have been conditioned through mainstream media to put ourselves through misery, assuming that it somehow displays our nobility in love; however, it often erodes our self-respect. Acknowledging your needs is paramount this Moon cycle (from new Moon to new Moon). Gone are the days of accepting less than you know you deserve. Gone are the days of giving less than those you interact with deserve. The golden rule has become even more golden because it is the foundation of all love. You may be noticing how the relationships you foster mirror an aspect of the relationship you have with yourself. Sincerely treating yourself better results in being treated better. Please remember, you are not ungrateful not to engage with everything and everyone you are vibrationally aligned with. Sometimes we find ourselves on the same frequency as what we are working to leave behind. Evaluating what enters your life in this manner helps you see the ever-present green or red flags that may have been missed.

What do you need in your relationships?
What do you need from yourself?
Take Away:
Your presence will reveal all that you need to know. Taking a moment this week to observe how you view your role in your significant relationships will go a long way. Holding on for dear life or hyper-focusing on minor shifts within your connections out of fear of feeling unsafe will only cause anxiety. Attempting to see the perspective of others, moving at your natural pace to make decisions, and knowing that you are always protected, can help subside any challenging feelings felt as you process the current cosmic weather. Acknowledging your needs is critical; only then will you know what to offer the world and your relationships. We get what we give. Accepting what you sincerely feel you deserve will assist you in exploring and letting go connections that come your way. (It is 8:33 pm as I write this!) Breathe into your current experience and trust that it is meant to be as it is.
