Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: November 8th, 2022
How to Use This Blog
I create horoscopes for you to use as a tool for introspection and reflection. When observing the outside world from a general perspective, I recognize that we receive very little encouragement from working on developing and understanding our inner world. You can use the information in this blog to prompt guided introspection.
Background Information
When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets represent energies that correlate with the different manifestations of our nature. They show us that we are many parts that make a whole. The zodiac signs represent atmospheres or energy signatures through which the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves. Lastly, astrological houses represent the various life areas that make up our lives. From this viewpoint, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.
The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth-based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back of the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything related to the study of Astrology.
Full Moon and New Moon 101
Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022, there was a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio, and the Sun was in Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. On the other hand, New Moons always occur within the same sign, the Sun. For example, On October 25th, 2022 there was a partial solar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun, along with the new Moon was in the sign Scorpio..
What you came for
On Tuesday, November 8th, 2022, there will be a full Moon total lunar eclipse in the Earth sign Taurus. This full Moon is aspecting the planet Uranus and the North Node, adding layers of intricacy to an already complex moment. Uranus is debilitated in the sign Taurus. This planetary positioning has led to a pervading sense of uncertainty looming in the cosmos, which has led many within the collective to attempt to control any and everything regarding their lives and their futures.
Eclipse 101
From an astronomical perspective, an eclipse is an event that obscures/ distorts the light of the Moon from the perspective of Earth. Astrologically eclipses represent distorted, neglected or unknown areas of our lives becoming lit with the light of clarity from our conscious awareness, paired with the ending of old paradigms.
Eclipses occur in pairs, starting with a Solar eclipse and ending with a Lunar eclipse. A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun (hence the name Solar) and the Earth, creating a ring of light around a dark Moon and only happens during the new Moon phase. From an astrological perspective, the house the new Moon falls in, which in this case was any house(s) in the sign Scorpio, underwent a rebirth that increased your emotional awareness of what that house represents. The transformation process involves contraction and expansion in no particular order. For example, suppose you have your 9th house in the sign Scorpio. In this case, the new Moon solar eclipse may have indicated a change in how you viewed an aspect of your reality that increased your ability to understand the subtle, underlying fabric that holds life together more deeply.
A Lunar eclipse, on the other hand, occurs when the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow, fully or partially covering the lunar disk (hence the name, Lunar) and only happens during the full Moon phase. From an astrological perspective, the house(s) the full Moon falls in, and this case will be the house(s) in the sign Taurus, will illuminate something within that area of life that will come to an end. Suppose, for example; you have your 3rd house in the sign Taurus. The part of your life that encompasses familiarity, siblings, close friends, spiritual devotion, primary education etc., will experience this ending, which can take the form of you choosing to let go of resentment and forgive a close friend for something they have done to you. The change in paradigm here is letting go of fear and pain.
Taurus 101
The atmosphere of the sign Taurus teaches us the importance of stability, resourcefulness and sustainability. In this atmosphere, using resources with a purpose allows us to avoid unnecessarily wasting materials. The planet Venus rules Taurus, which signifies exchange, unity, and fertility, amongst other things. With this in mind, we can see that stability, resourcefulness, and sustainability allow us to coexist with others. The sustainable world we could create by bringing what we have to offer to the collective and compiling our resources together is a reality often displayed in a form of a utopia. The sign Taurus shows just how possible this reality is if we all worked together to achieve a common goal. Building a foundation to last is a primary goal for this energy signature.
North and South Node 101
The North and South Nodes are points the Moon intersects the Earth’s path around the Sun. From an astrological perspective, these nodes provide insight into our purpose and past lives. The North Node is our North star pointing us in the direction of the most evolved version of ourselves. While the South Node reveals our past life and what must be evolved. This full Moon, total lunar eclipse, will have the collective reflecting on what is needed from us to build a solid foundation for ourselves so we can identify what our purpose is in this life.
Horoscope
Sometimes there is a difference between doing what feels right and doing what feels good. Sometimes doing what feels right does not feel good. Gone are the days of attempting to control any purposeful action by limiting it to our ideals so that it can feel good. The denial and delusion of controlling our purpose by choosing what we want has revealed the truth: our purpose is a calling we answer—not something we create. The challenge now lies in choosing to no longer work towards building our ideal selves and allow ourselves to be as we are so we can live purposefully by listening to the prompts we receive at the moment. Trusting the foundation we have built for ourselves and not reacting to the pressure felt by not having all the answers when we desire them will allow us to indeed coexist with the universe rather than attempt to dictate how it should manifest itself. We are reflections of each other, and allowing it to be as it is will let us do the same.
Conclusion
The desires we have for our lives often supersede and warp our sense of reality. Accepting that our purpose is a calling to be answered, as opposed to a job to be created, can assist us in reducing any pressure we may carry regarding our futures. Building a foundation on listening to what feels right will always lead us in the right direction. This does not mean you will not get hurt; however, what it will do is get us to become more fluent at responding to our intuition, which can help us identify purposeful action more easily.
