Partial Solar Eclipse in Scorpio: October 25th, 2022
How to Use This Blog
I create horoscopes for you to use as a tool for introspection and reflection. When observing the outside world from a general perspective, I recognize that we receive very little encouragement from working on developing and understanding our inner world. You can use the information in this blog to prompt guided introspection.
Background Information
When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets represent energies that correlate with the different manifestations of our nature. They show us that we are many parts that make a whole. The zodiac signs represent atmospheres or energy signatures through which the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves. Lastly, astrological houses represent the various life areas that make up our lives. From this viewpoint, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.
The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth-based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back of the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything related to the study of Astrology.
Full Moon and New Moon 101
Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022, there was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio, and the Sun was in the sign Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. On the other hand, New Moons always occur within the same sign, the Sun. For example, On July 28th, the Sun was in the sign Leo, along with the new Moon.
What you came for
On Tuesday, October 25th, 2022, at 6:48 am, the Moon will be moving into the water sign Scorpio. This new Moon is notable for two reasons. One, the Moon will be in its fall in the sign Scorpio, and two, it is a partial solar eclipse, marking the start of a pair of eclipses, this new Moon and the coming Full Moon in Taurus on November 8th, 2022.
Eclipse 101
From an astronomical perspective, an eclipse is an event that obscures/ distorts the light of the Moon from the perspective of Earth. Astrologically eclipses represent distorted, neglected or unknown areas of our lives becoming lit with the light of clarity from our conscious awareness, paired with the ending of old paradigms.
Eclipses occur in pairs, starting with a Solar eclipse and ending with a Lunar eclipse. A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun (hence the name Solar) and the Earth, creating a ring of light around a dark Moon and only happens during the new Moon phase. From an astrological perspective, the house the new Moon falls in, which in this case would be any house(s) in the sign Scorpio, will undergo a rebirth that will increase your emotional awareness of what that house represents. The transformation process involves contraction and expansion in no particular order. For example, suppose you have your 9th house in the sign Scorpio. In this case, the new Moon solar eclipse may indicate a change in how you view an aspect of your reality that will increase your ability to understand the subtle, underlying fabric that holds life together more deeply.
A Lunar eclipse, on the other hand, occurs when the Moon passes through the Earth’s shadow, fully or partially covering the lunar disk (hence the name, Lunar) and only happens during the full Moon phase. From an astrological perspective, the house(s) the full Moon falls in, and this case would be the house(s) in the sign Taurus will illuminate something within that area of life that will come to an end. Suppose you have your 3rd house in the sign Taurus. The part of your life that encompasses familiarity, siblings, close friends, spiritual devotion, primary education etc., will experience this ending, which can take the form of you choosing to let go a resentment and forgive a close friend for something they have done to you. The change in paradigm here is letting go of fear and pain.
Scorpio 101
The atmosphere of the sign Scorpio teaches us the importance of getting to the root when dealing with matters that require understanding. The planets Mars and Pluto rule the sign Scorpio and reveal that intensity, penetration, intuition, emotional intelligence, persistence and investigation are needed to arrive at the root to understand something—especially our traumas. Pluto personifies the energy of transformation, decay, violation, trauma, liberation and things in life that are discreet yet in plain sight. Scorpio is the perfect atmosphere for the Pluto within us to break down what is old and no longer functioning optimally and rebuild a stronger foundation. It is also the perfect atmosphere to bring light to dark ares within ourselves and activate the Phoenix within us to rise above the ashes, and embody ourselves holistically.
Horoscope
Your relationship with yourself is transforming, causing you to recluse. What has been impeding your ability to be with yourself is becoming known now. You are seeing the relationships, thoughts, emotions etc., that have created a barrier between you and your whole self, stirring up mixed emotions. We can only meet people as far as they have met themselves, and the people you have met that made a lasting impression reject themselves out of fear. Shame is at the core, and the truth is you have been rejecting yourself based on someone else’s projected perception of themselves. Learning how to avoid internalizing the projections of others will prove to be an enormous lesson that will save you from abandoning and loathing yourself. Unapologetically living and expressing yourself will provide you with a significant sense of relief; however, it will also push you out of the apparent good graces of those who are afraid to be themselves. Are you ready to finally do you?
Journal Prompts
Why do I care about what they think of who I am?
Have I been reducing myself in fear of being alone?
What relationships have I been allowing to hold me back from unapologetically living my life
Can I answer the call to be myself sincerely, regardless of who may not like it?
Conclusion
You have one life to live as the you you are right now. Allowing yourself to live in the shadows due to fear of being alone will keep you alone. Despite how it may seem, you are the only one keeping yourself hidden and sequestered within yourself. Be you and only you. A helpful question to ask now is, whose reality matters more, theirs or mine?
