Blog Post Synopsis

How to Use This Blog

The reason I create horoscopes is so that they can be used as a tool for introspection and reflection. I recognize, when observing the outside world from a general perspective, we receive very little encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. Use the information provided in this blog for material to prompt guided introspection.

Background Information

When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets can be viewed as energies that represent different parts of our nature, or frequencies that resonate with and influence different parts of our nature. They show us that we are comprised of many parts that make a whole. The signs of the zodiac can be viewed as the atmospheres that the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves through. Lastly, the astrological houses can be viewed as the different life areas that make up our lives. From this view point, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.

Reminder: The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything regarding the study of Astrology.

Full Moon and New Moon 101

Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022 there was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio and the Sun was in the sign Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. New Moons on the other hand always take place within the same sign the Sun. For example, the Sun will be the sign Leo and the new Moon on July 28th will be in the sign Leo.

What You Came For

On Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, there will be a full SuperMoon in the Earth sign Capricorn at 21°21’ (21 degrees and 21 minutes). Numerically, the 21°21’ displays a mirroring effect, similar to the one created by the opposing Moon and Sun. The major themes at play are:

  • our wounded gifts (Chiron) that link to deep-rooted trauma (Pluto), which has become the lens from which we view ourselves (Sun)

  • the difference between our emotional (Moon) and mental (Mercury) health and the subsequent different approaches they require for optimal functioning

  • the dynamic our emotions and mental space create when it comes to following our inner compass (North Node)

The recent new Moon on June 28th, 2022, had us consciously focused on acknowledging our feelings and the emotions that arose from those feelings with the hopes of establishing inner harmony. This full Moon will have us unpacking accumulated baggage that has been blocking us from seeing ourselves in real-time. The ultimate goal here is to reconcile the cognitive dissonance we have been collectively experiencing in relation to who we are and who we think we should be. Chalking this inner voyage up to “self-acceptance” is an overgeneralization. Of course, this can lead to self-acceptance; however, what we are analyzing is the desire to optimize who we are solely to fit into the constructs made within the dominant society. In this case, we then define ourselves as purely three-dimensional beings, devoid of our natural essence, which automatically reduces our value.

Our Essence

The magic sauce we often do not account for when we think about who we are is our essence. Consider your essence to be an invisible code that makes you, you, no matter what body or lifetime your consciousness exists within. Your essence is what makes you timeless, light and valuable. The awareness and appreciation of this secret ingredient determines your self-worth and overall value because none of it is physical. The dissonance between who we are and who we think we should be results from separating our essence from our body, with a hyper-focus on the body to define all of what makes us complete. We have already lost the moment we start viewing ourselves within this Earthly binary system (Saturn) because our essence is not physical. Then we strive to make sense of this nonsensical equation that will never add up, blaming ourselves for not being good enough. The reality is we are not purely three-dimensional. I understand we already know this; however, relating this message to how we view ourselves can be what is missing when it comes to uniting how we see ourselves with who we are.

In Relation To TheThemes Above

Our wounded gifts (Chiron) remain wounded because of the dissonance stated above. Our inability to see ourselves beyond the physical prevents us from embracing our experience and seeing value in how we show up for life every day. Whether it is because of your body image, a love that has not materialized the way you want or your desired amount of zeros in your bank account, these Earthly fixations create limitations around the environments needed for us to show up as our best selves. This mindset does the collective a colossal disservice because relying on three-dimensional things only perpetuates the nonsensical equation that results in many of us hiding (Sun), and a domino effect ensues. When we hide, we stop following our inner compass (North Node), which creates an estranged relationship with our sense of purpose. Over time this estrangement only leads to greater disharmony within, creating a blockage between our emotions (Moon) and thoughts (Mercury).

 Conclusion

We can relieve ourselves from this unnecessary suffering by slowing ourselves down enough to witness our essence— granting ourselves the opportunity to see ourselves in action. I am smiling as I write this; imagining you innocently in action reminds me of birds doing their thing in a birdbath—nothing to judge, just something to witness. What would it take for you to see yourself in that same way?

Journal Prompts:

  • When do I feel most at peace?

  • What am I doing when I feel most at peace?

  • How can I slow myself down enough to witness myself at peace?

  • Have I ever witnessed my essence? What was I doing?

  • What prevents me from existing unapologetically?

  • Who do I think I should be?

  • Who am I?
