How to Use This Blog

The reason I create horoscopes is so that they can be used as a tool for introspection and reflection. I recognize, when observing the outside world from a general perspective, we receive very little encouragement to work on developing and understanding our inner world. Use the information provided in this blog for material to prompt guided introspection.

Background Information

When using Astrology as a tool for healing and introspection (within the realm of Natal Astrology), the planets can be viewed as energies that represent different parts of our nature, or frequencies that resonate with and influence different parts of our nature. They show us that we are comprised of many parts that make a whole. The signs of the zodiac can be viewed as the atmospheres that the different parts of our nature (the planets) express themselves through. Lastly, the astrological houses can be viewed as the different life areas that make up our lives. From this view point, interpreting horoscopes can be easier to digest and more practical for immediate implementation.

Reminder: The study of Astrology is from the perspective of the Earth looking out towards the cosmos. In other words, Astrology is an Earth based natural science. Having this piece of context at the back the mind can be a helpful best practice when discussing anything regarding the study of Astrology.

Full Moon and New Moon 101

Full Moons are always in the opposite sign of the Sun. For example, on May 16th, 2022 there was a total lunar eclipse in the sign Scorpio and the Sun was in the sign Taurus. Scorpio and Taurus are opposites signs. New Moons on the other hand always take place within the same sign the Sun. For example, the Sun is currently in the sign Cancer and the new Moon on June 28th will be in the sign Cancer.

What You Came For

On June 28th, 2022, there will be a new Moon in the sign Cancer. What makes this new Moon particularly interesting is the fact that the Moon will be in its domicile (home), Cancer. If we were to personify the Moon for a moment, the atmosphere of the sign Cancer is where the Moon feels most familiar, similar to how we feel at "home." The Moon can walk around with her eyes shut, experiencing no fear because no place within the home is "off-limits."

The Moon in the sign Cancer is a double-edged sword when observed from the perspective of the collective. Acknowledging emotions that our feelings connect us with is a healthy and cathartic experience; however, societally, displaying the vulnerability needed to honour our feelings is often considered a weakness. Acknowledging these feelings is especially challenging for men because of our society's unhealthy focus on masculine energy. The stoic man is the ideal display of masculine energy, leaving little room for a man to experience the comfort of acknowledging and displaying his emotions in a general sense.

I must emphasize that energy is balanced within the 3rd dimension no matter how it is perceived. While society's focus on masculine energy may appear to be an imbalanced focal point, undefined feminine energy in the form of "bromances"  and the notion of "  bros before hoes"  make up for the apparent lack of emotional display. Within the dynamics of a "bromance"  and the unspoken culture associated with the notion of "bros before hoes," men are allotted emotional freedom when directed toward a dear friend, which is contradictory if you look at this deeper; however, that is a conversation for another time.

For those interested in experiencing conscious alignment, using the prompts provided to us by our feelings, this upcoming new Moon, along with the entire Cancer season, will be extremely helpful. For most of us, the atmosphere of the sign Cancer connects us to past emotions experienced in childhood. We still have access to these emotions through our memory (also associated with the sign Cancer) because we did not and still do not feel safe enough to acknowledge them.

From an astrological perspective, the Moon represents our emotions/inner world. The Moon rules the sign Cancer and its orbit around the Earth is approximately 27.5-29 days. The Moon cycles through the entire zodiac within a roughly observed 28-day period, resulting in the Moon spending around 2.3 days in each zodiac sign. The Moon's orbit around the Earth creates our emotional cycle, which we experience every month. If we have not intervened, aka, explored our emotions, it is highly likely that the emotions experienced are expired and rotting, which is why they frequently resurface—for you to acknowledge them.

Horoscope

This Cancer season and the new Moon in Cancer will be an extremely uncomfortable time for those who have trouble acknowledging their emotions. Emotionally withholding will result in incapacitation and overall frustration. Whether initially perceived as integral or malicious, the reasoning for ignoring our feelings does not matter because cowardice is cowardice regardless of context. Now is the time to be honest with ourselves because denial can only take us so far. Spite-induced denial only hurts us and not the other. The analogy, drinking poison and desiring for the other to die, seems appropriate. If and when we internalize a feeling as rejection, we are the ones choosing to reject ourselves internally. We can end our suffering by acknowledging the reality of our emotions. By choosing to call our emotions by,  we bypass internalizing the emotion and turn it into an experience. What experience have you been avoiding? Expect it to meet you face to face when you are most vulnerable. Learning to see the blessing in situations like these will be a significant turning point in our lives because this will reveal we no longer see the universe/God/whatever we believe in as something out get us.

Conclusion

Acknowledge your feelings and the subsequent emotions they reveal, and let go of the fantasy involving someone coming to rescue you. The idea of being recused is an illusion that will only lead you to more suffering. Be the one to save yourself by being honest with yourself because you are the only one capable of saving yourself.

What emotions have I been avoiding?

When did I begin avoiding these emotions?

What have I internalized as a result of not acknowledging these emotions?

Do I desire to be saved from myself?

When did I become the villain in my own story?
